Welcome to the ForensicsWiki, a Creative Commons wiki dedicated to sharing open source information about digital forensics practice.

The ForensicsWiki was created in October 2005. It is maintained by a group of volunteers and hosted by Simson Garfinkel at Dreamhost.

Who Can Contribute?

Anyone can contribute to the ForensicsWiki. Unfortunately, due to a recent spat of spam, we have been forced to implement a mandatory account registration system with an email answerback.

What is Appropriate for the Forensics Wiki?

Information about:

  • Computer forensics in general.
  • Specific forensic practices.
  • Pointers to interesting news stories.
  • Original academic research.

What is not appropriate?

  • Product advertisements.
  • Personal attacks.
